Lake Roosevelt basketball teams compete in tourney

The Lake Roosevelt Raiders and Lady Raiders traveled to Spokane Valley to compete in the Eagles Holiday Classic Dec. 28-29 to get some non-league competition over winter break, but neither LR team nabbed a win.

The Raider boys lost 43-32 to East Valley High School Dec. 28 before losing 43-36 to Riverside High School the next day.

The Lady Raiders lost 47-33 to Lakeside High School on Dec. 28 before losing to Cheney High School 74-49 the next day.

Coaches were unavailable for comment.

The Raiders and Lady Raiders hosted Bridgeport last night in Coulee Dam, results of which will be online at http://www.grandcoulee.com, as well as in next week’s Star.

Their next games are on Saturday, Jan. 6, in Waterville; and Tuesday, Jan. 9, in Oroville. The Ladies are scheduled for 6 p.m. and the boys for 7:30 p.m. in those contests.

Their next home game is on Thursday, Jan. 11, hosting the Brewster Bears, with the Ladies again scheduled for 6 p.m. and the boys for 7:30.
