12/18 - A Fortuyn Road woman reported to police that her bank card had been stolen and some $3,000 had been charged to it. She reported that her bank is working with her to determine who had used the card.

12/28 - The owner of Pepper Jack’s Bar & Grille reported to police that someone had been dumping their garbage in the restaurant’s dumpster. Police looked to see if the culprit could be identified through something that was discarded. The restaurant official said it wasn’t the first time this has occurred.

12/29 - A 20-foot car trailer was stolen from a location at Coulee Boulevard East in Electric City. Fresh snow had blocked out the perpretor’s tire marks.

- An Electric City woman who was following another vehicle too closely for driving conditions was stopped near Pole Park. The woman didn’t have a valid operator’s license and was ticketed. She was advised to get a person with a valid license to take charge of her vehicle. She stated to the officer that she was late for work.

- Dispatch advised police that a subject had run into the alley and was hiding at Grand Avenue West in Electric City.

- A Coulee Dam woman asked police to check on a man she hadn’t heard from for a couple of weeks. Police checked at a Jackson Avenue house in Electric City but the man was apparently not home. The woman was notified.

- A Nespelem woman slid into the wrong car when she struck a patrol car near the Visitor Center, where it was parked while assisting a stalled motorist, causing minimal damage. To top it off, she was cited for not having a driver’s license or insurance.

12/30 - Dispatch reported to police that a woman was seen on Federal Avenue holding her head and screaming. Police went to the indicated apartment, but a man there said he knew nothing about it and that there wasn’t a woman in the apartment except his mother.

- Police heard of a man wearing shorts staggering up the hill toward the Eagles Lodge. The report stated that the man was falling down and had dropped a bag of groceries and left it behind. The officer found the man on A Street and, because the man was not warmly dressed, gave him a courtesy ride home.

- A Pennsylvania driver was stopped on Federal Avenue for going 44 mph in a 30-mph zone. The officer found that the man’s license was suspended. He was cited and a licensed driver contacted to take charge of the vehicle.

12/31 - A resident of West Grand Avenue in Electric City was told of a dog complaint. The officer was within a block of the place when the complaint came in. The officer reported that this has been a frequent problem and next time the subject would be cited.

- A Gold Lake Road resident near Nespelem was stopped because there was not a license plate on the front of her car. The officer learned that her operator’s license had expired six months earlier; the two people in the car were not wearing seatbelts; and there was no insurance. The officer wrote a citation.

1/1/18 - An officer checked on a vehicle parked on Banks Avenue and found that it had been reported as stolen. Police contacted an individual at the nearest house, who told him that he was getting the car back for the owner. The officer was told that the man was indeed getting his car back for him, and said his former girlfriend had taken the car and he wanted to press charges. The owner was told to make the report to the county sheriff who originally handled the complaint.

- Police were called to Coulee Medical Center to assist personnel when a man refused efforts to release his wife. He said she had dementia and he couldn’t take care of her.

- A man on Holly Street told police that a drunken person had entered his house, then left, jumped a fence and walked away.

- Police helped an elderly lady in the Continental Heights area after she had fallen in the snow. The officer let the woman warn up in his patrol car while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

- Dispatch advised that a woman was going to be released at the hospital but didn’t have any place to stay. Later, the officer learned that a family member had taken the woman into their home.

- A man at Partello Parkway said that someone had entered his home and taken a cellphone and a small quartz crystal. Police checked footprints in the snow.

- A person at the Electric City Tavern called to report that a person just left the bar drunk. Police intercepted the person nearby and determined that the person was not impaired.

- An Electric City man called police to request a report form. When asked if he had something to report, he said no but wanted the form “just in case.” When the officer learned who was calling, the man was invited into the police department, where he was informed of two warrants for his arrest. He was taken to Grant County jail.

A man from E Grand Coulee Avenue told police he wanted his ex-girlfriend banned from his house. He was told if the woman showed up to inform her that he was calling the police.

- Police were informed that a man leaving the Eagles Lodge had kicked the door, knocking it off its hinges and breaking a window in the door. Damage was estimated at $1,000. Police will ask people to identify the man from security tape footage taken at the time.

- A Soap Lake woman was cited for disorderly conduct when she was spotted in the middle of Midway Avenue, yelling loudly. She gave officers confusing information, and later a motorist stated that he’d had to swerve to avoid hitting her.

- Officers responded to a noise complaint at Coulee Playland. A number of possibly intoxicated males were told to keep the noise down because a nearby resident said they were keeping him awake.

1/2 - A woman at East Grand Coulee Avenue reported that a white sedan had driven by her house at least 10 times.

- Officers responded to a structure fire at a house on Sunset Avenue in Electric City. Smoke was coming out of the house from a chimney fire. After making sure that everyone was out of the house and the arrival of the fire department, officers cleared the scene.

1/3 - A woman on Sunny Lane in Electric City asked for help in moving her husband, who had a health issue, from the driver’s seat in their vehicle to the passenger side so she could drive him to the hospital. An officer assisted with her request.

12/28 - Officers served papers on a resident on Camas Street.

1/2 - A person was stopped at Pine Street and Civic Way for a traffic offense and police found the driver’s license was suspended. He was cited.

1/3 - Police checked on a 911 call from Spruce Street and listed it as an abuse call.

- A Camas Street resident complained to police of loose dogs that came onto his property. He stated that the dogs had been let out the front door. An officer talked to the owner of the dogs, who stated that he goes out with the dogs when he lets them out the front door, and that if they run onto the neighbor’s yard there isn’t much he can do about it. He suggested to the officer that the neighbor should come over and talk with him rather than call the police. The officer told the owner of the dogs that he should call the dogs off if they go out of their yard.

- Police left two citations in an Elmer City man’s mailbox after checking out his story about driving and violating a no-contact court order and finding it to be false. He was cited for the no-contact incident and for driving with a suspended license. His vehicle was towed.
