Raiders finish season at district tournament

The Lake Roosevelt Raiders basketball team finished their season with a win and a loss at districts last weekend in the District 5-6 2B tournament.

Playing in Granger on Feb. 16, the Raiders defeated the Waterville Shockers 56-43. The Raiders led through most of the game.

The next day, playing White Swan, the Raiders lost a close one 52-49, with White Swan taking the 15th seed for regionals and the Raiders being eliminated.

Head Coach Jeremy Crollard was unavailable for comment.

The Raiders had led 25-23 at the end of the first half after a Trevor McCraigie three-pointer and foul shot. The score was tied several times in the second half, at 48-48 with just 1:23 left. A one-point foul shot by Hunter Whitelaw got the Raiders to 49, and the Raiders took sixth in the tournament.

The Raiders' 10-6 regular season in-league win-loss record and 12-12 overall record is an improvement over last year when the Raiders were 3-13 in league, 3-17 overall.
