Whitemans excel on the golf course

Three cousins led the Raider golf team Monday in competing at home on the Banks Lake Golf Course, playing nine holes in sunny weather with fellow golfers from Omak and Okanogan.

"The weather was amazing, and even though the course has yet to open, they cut the greens for us and allowed us to use the clubhouse," noted Raider Head Coach Steve Files. "I want to thank Jim Keene and all his crew for accommodating us."

Darin Whiteman had the best score from either team on nine holes, with just 40 strokes. Other LR scores are Daxton Whiteman with 50, Conner Emmerson with 50, Derek Whiteman with 54, Levi Bob with 61, Casey Cleveland with 61, Dylan Steinert with 66, and Kevin Brown with 70.

"Everyone appeared to be having fun out there," Files said. "Omak and Okanogan's home course isn't playable yet, so they were thrilled with the conditions at Banks Lake."

The Raiders play at home on Thursday, March 22, with golfers from Wilbur at 2:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 24, the Raiders will play at the Jack Barnes Memorial at Three Lakes Golf Course in Malaga, outside of Wenatchee.
