CALL FOR BIDS

2018 STREET REPAIRS

Sealed Proposals will be received by the undersigned at the City of Electric City, City Hall, 10 Western Avenue, Electric City, Washington 99123, up to 11:00 a.m., local time on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, for furnishing the necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, and guarantees thereof to construct 2018 Street Repairs.

This Contract provides for the repair of pavement and subgrade, adjusting of manhole rims to finished grade elevation, and the installation of cement concrete rolled curb and gutter, multiple locations throughout the City, including, but not limited to, excavation, grading, subgrade preparation, crushed surfacing aggregate courses, hot mix asphalt pavement, traffic control, and all other work required to complete the work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.

The Work shall be substantially complete within 30 working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. All bidding and construction is to be performed in compliance with the Contract Provisions and Contract Plans for this project and any addenda issued thereto that are on file at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Electric City, Washington.

The Proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud shortly after the time and date stated above. Proposals are to be submitted only on the form provided with the Bid Documents. All Proposals must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, money order, or bid bond payable to the “City of Electric City” and in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid.

Bid Documents may be examined at the office of the City of Electric City or the office of the Project Engineer, Gray & Osborne, Inc. Bid Documents for this project are available free-of-charge at the following website: “http://gobids.grayandosborne.com”. Bidders are encouraged to “Register” as a planholder in order to receive automatic email notification of applicable addenda and to be placed on the “Planholder List”. For assistance, please call (509) 453‑4833. Contract questions shall be directed only to the office of the Project Engineer.

Financing of the Project has been provided by City of Electric City, Washington, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the State Emergency Management Division. The City of Electric City expressly reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive minor irregularities or informalities and to Award the Project to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it best serves the interests of the City.

NOTICE OF

PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT -

ELECTRIC CITY

The City of Electric City will be conducting a Public Works project located at the corner of Diamond St. and Sunset Dr. and from Pearl Ave. to Sunset Dr. The intent of the project is to abate an old unreliable 8” water main that runs through the center of residents’ properties from Pearl to Diamond beginning near the city’s water towers. The project includes looping lines from Pearl to Sunset and from Diamond to Sunset. The estimated cost for the city’s public works department to complete the project is $52,398.89 and is planned to begin sometime in June. ELEMENT of the Comprehensive Plan

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public workshop will be held by Electric City from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 22, 2018, at City Hall located at 10 Western Avenue, Electric City, Washington, to receive public input regarding revisions to the Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan. The Land Use Element contains five sections: residential land use; commercial land use; industrial land use; urban growth area; andcritical areas.

The public is encouraged to attend, comment and be involved with reviewing the proposed amendments. You can also submit comments regarding the Comprehensive Plan in writing to City of Electric City, PO Box 130, Electric City, WA 99123.
