8/20 - A King Street man noticed that an unoccupied home he owns has had people inside. A door had been pried open, boxes packed, and someone had been sleeping in the guest bed there. He said a computer, pans, silverware, a wagon, Jim Beam bottles, electrical insulators, and tools were missing.
- An officer checked on the welfare of Grand Ave. dogs and found them to be in good health, with food and water. The officer explained to the homeowner the reason for the stop.
- A woman who lost custody of her child wanted an officer to check on her child. The child appeared healthy and said she was fine at her new residence.
- A Burdin Blvd. woman said a man spit in her yard, and when she asked him not to walk across her yard, he responded, “Why?” She also believes he stole her lawn sprinkler.
8/21 - A car, left with the keys in it at the Jack’s Spring Canyon gas station, was found to have been a loaner car from a dealership in Omak. The woman to whom the car was loaned said her grandson had borrowed it. The officer told her she needed to pick it up before 4 p.m. and she said that wouldn’t be a problem.
8/22 - An officer responded to a barking dog complaint on Grand Coulee Ave. There were two dogs there, neither of which was barking until the officer approached the door of the residence. The report noted that there are multiple complaints about the dogs barking or running at large. The owner was not home.
- A driver pulled over near the intersection of Federal Ave. and Spokane Way and was cited for driving with a suspended license. The man had been warned previously about doing so. When asked why he’d continued driving with a suspended license after being warned, he said he was having trouble paying the fines to get the license reinstated.
8/23 - An officer responding to a call about a possible drunken driver found that a Dill Ave. woman had talked her husband out of driving, and that all was well.
- A man near Riley Point on SR-155 was holding his bolt cutters over a grounding wire that is part of the system of the high voltage towers there. The man said the wire was trash. The officer explained that it is not trash, identified the man, and told him to leave and never return.
- A suspicious vehicle on Lincoln Ave. was occupied by a woman who said she was waiting for her husband, whom she said was lost, to show up at the area where they would be staying.
- An officer relayed information to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office regarding a felled tree blocking the a lane on SR-155 near the top of the Wilbur grade.
- An officer told a motorcyclist about a complaint he received about the motorcyclist allegedly going off road near the Crown Point/Candy Point area. The caller was worried the motorcyclist could cause a fire.
- An officer transferred a woman wanted on a warrant to a Grant County Sheriff’s deputy in Coulee City after arresting her in the Safeway parking lot.
8/24 - An officer followed a vehicle heading down SR-174, observed it drive over the fog line multiple times, then pulled the driver over on Columbia Ave. in Coulee Dam. He failed roadside sobriety tests and blew a 0.25 on a breathalyzer test. The man was taken to the Grand Coulee Police Department, spoke to a lawyer, was charged with driving under the influence and taken home by a family member.
- A Kelso Avenue man was using a fire pit, an officer noted when investigating a report of someone having a fire. The day saw some of the heaviest forest fire smoke accumulation, registering in the very unhealthy range in the area.
8/25 - An officer contacted a man arguing with a woman at Coulee Gas and found that he was wanted on a felony warrant. He took the man to Grant County Jail.
- No car was found in the ditch near North Dam Park where it was reported there was one.
- A man agreed to be taken to Coulee Medical Center to speak with a mental health specialist. The man was despondent over medical issues he’s been suffering from since being in an accident, and was having suicidal thoughts.
- A driver stopped on SR-155 was cited for driving with a suspended license and without an interlock. His vehicle was impounded because he had multiple charges for driving with the suspended license. The officer misplaced the suspended license of the man during the traffic stop and spoke with the passengers on the scene, but couldn’t locate the license again.
8/26 - A woman was charged with driving with a suspended license after being pulled over on SR-155 in Coulee Dam.
- A 13-year-old girl was returned to her home in Electric City after leaving without permission after an argument over using a phone and cleaning her room.
8/27 - A Hill Ave. woman’s tire was slashed.
- A Wells Fargo debit card was opened in a Mead Ave. man’s name without his consent or knowledge. The Wells Fargo fraud department told him to have police fill out a report on the incident.
- A man wanted on a felony warrant was taken to Grant County Jail without incident after being spotted at the intersection of Alcan and Yakima.

8/20 - A now-seperated couple yelling loudly at each other was arguing on Camas St. Witnesses said they saw the woman throw rocks at the man’s house, and the man brandish a hammer to chase away the woman, whose belongings he had thrown outside the residence. She was found to have some blood on her lip, which she said may have been from a gate swinging open after the man let it go. Charges may be filed for the man threatening the woman with the hammer.
8/21 - A neighbor reported that a house that had been vacant for years had the door open and that a tall, thin woman missing many teeth was there. An officer arrived and found the woman matching the description who said she had inherited the house. But she was having a difficult time relaying details to the officer. Her things were inside bags and boxes, and the name and birth date she gave didn’t have a match for Washington or surrounding states. Further investigation is needed to find out what is actually happening, the police report stated.
8/25 - Damage was done to a woman’s car in the Harvest Foods parking lot. The manager of the store said he would provide security footage to officers if footage revealed anything.
