Harvest Festival offering has grown - a lot

The number of vendors planning to offer wares at the Harvest Festival this weekend in North Dam Park has grown substantially from the event several years ago when a community yard sale was its most significant offering.

In fact, the list of vendors has grown by at least half just since last year, with some 37 vendors coming to sell their wares, plus 11 food vendors.

Many of those will hail from the local area, with many from the popular Wednesday market attending.

In addition to the vendors, the event hosts the final competition of the Pacific Northwest BBQ Association, bringing the best barbecuers to Grand Coulee from the PNW. Although the competition will be ongoing Saturday and Sunday, you can pay to sample their product from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tokens for four samples cost $10.

You’ll need the energy after running in the Run the Dam race at 9 a.m. on Saturday, or after taking a 210-mile motorcycle ride on the poker run.

A human foosball competition is also planned, so get up a team.

Or plan on taking a helicopter ride Saturday or Sunday.

The organizing Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce is also bringing back the popular beer garden, beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
