Chamber This Week

Jesse Utz from Lake Roosevelt Jr./Sr. High School will be speaking about the Natural Helpers Program at chamber this Thursday, September 27. The group will be meeting at La Presa in Grand Coulee at noon.

Free Food

Distribution Thursday

There will be a free food distribution on Thursday, Sept. 27, noon – 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 348 Mead Ave., Grand Coulee. Free produce and nutritious perishable products available for all families in need of food assistance. No appointment or documentation needed. Please bring your own bag. Veteran Resource

and Job Fair

A Veteran Resource and Job Fair will be held Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grant County Fairgrounds 4H Building, 3953 Airway Drive in Moses Lake. Employment opportunities, free cold weather gear for homeless veterans, representatives from the VA, Veteran organizations, community partners and much more will be at this fair. Coordinated in partnership with Grant County Veteran’s Advisory Board. This is for all veterans of all eras, service members and their families. Food Bank Open Fridays

The food bank at the Church of the Nazarene has normal operating hours every Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. But take note it will be closed Friday, August 31. It is located at the Church of Nazarene, Hwy 174, Grand Coulee. Clients are encouraged to provide their own containers to carry groceries home in. Call Pastor Shawn for information: 633-2566.

AA Meetings for GCD and Nespelem Area

Confused in the Coulee AA meetings are held on Mondays and Fridays at 6 p.m. at the Vets Center in Electric City. Call Paul at 633-3377 days or 633-3345 evenings.

New Hope Group meetings are held Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at the Vets Center. These are open and non-smoking.

In Nespelem, the group Bound and Determined holds its meetings Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the Catholic Church. Contact Myrna at 634-4921 for more information.

TOPS Meetings

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 1524 meets on Tuesdays at 9:15 a.m. at Grand Coulee Senior Center prior to the exercise group gathering at 10 a.m. The SAIL exercise class follows this meeting beginning at 10 a.m. There is no charge. Also, a SAIL exercise class is held Mondays, Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., in the basement of the Coulee Dam town hall.
