The Lady Raiders lost at home against the Tonasket Lady Tigers, but not without a fight, then traveled to Oroville, where they beat the Hornets last week.
On Sept. 18 at home in Grand Coulee, the Lady Raiders lost 7-3 to Tonasket.
Maddie Toulou scored all three goals for LR, with Bryn Chaffee providing an assist.
"The first five minutes of the game, LR played beautifully," said Head Coach Casey Moore. "I think the team struggled with communication and aggression, but they were able to regroup and play well the second half. Chelsea Timentwa had several impressive saves, including one direct penalty kick."
In Oroville on Sept. 20, LR won 6-1.
The two schools played with smaller schools due to Oroville having only nine players.
"Oroville lost eight seniors last season," Moore explained. "Despite the small turnout, they played with heart."
The two teams played nine against nine, then two Oroville players got hurt, so the teams played seven on seven, and finally finished the game playing eight versus eight.
"LR had a great passing game," Moore said. "Maddie Toulou had an impressive four points, and Bryn Chaffee scored two really great shots. Freshman Sadie Trotter, who usually plays right mid, played forward and had five great attempts on goal."
LR played in Omak yesterday, results of which will be printing in next week's Star.
They play Liberty Bell at home in Grand Coulee on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 4:30 p.m. And they'll play Bridgeport next Tuesday, also at home in Grand Coulee, also at 4:30 p.m.
