Astronomy for everyone on offer at library

The universe, estimated by scientists to be about 14 billion years old, vast and full of mystery, will be the topic of a presentation at the Grand Coulee Library this Thursday.

Astronomer Kevin Manning, a former consultant with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and founder of Look Up to the Stars, will host a family-friendly presentation that explores the universe from the very small to the very large.

“Learn about the beauty and harmony of the universe on this virtual journey through the cosmos,” the event description reads.

Following the presentation, weather permitting, participants may go outside to view the rings of Saturn, the craters of the moon, and more through a powerful, handcrafted telescope.

The free presentation, intended for ages 8 and up, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. at the Grand Coulee Public Library.

More information is available at NCRL.org/grandcoulee or by calling the library at 509-633-0972.
