12/30 - Coulee Medical Center reported that a man, who sounded intoxicated, kept calling the hospital and threatening staff. The man reporting this wanted an officer to contact the other man and tell him to stop. An officer did so.

- A woman told police that she had kicked her son out of her residence for doing drugs, and that he’d stolen an iPad touchscreen tablet that had been tracked to Almira. She provided a serial number for the device, which was registered as stolen property.

12/31 - Electric City City Hall reported a dog named Rex, which is labeled as a “dangerous dog,” was running loose. The owner hasn’t complied with requirements for having a dangerous dog, and so Rex was taken to Grant County Animal Outreach with a 10-day hold and release placed on the animal.

1/1/19 - A man pulled over at Federal and Midway for having expired tabs was cited for driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was parked off the road and not impounded.

1/2 - A driver, pulled over on Midway for having a burned-out headlight at night, was cited for not having insurance.

- Responding to an anonymous report of possible animal cruelty, officers took a dog from Burdin Blvd. to Grant County Animal Outreach. The dog was emaciated and not properly cared for. The owner said she wanted the officers to take the dog.

- A driver was cited for driving without insurance after having been pulled over with a brake light out on River Dr. in Coulee Dam. He said he couldn’t afford insurance.

- A man pulled over near the overlook area just above Grand Coulee Dam for having inoperable brake lights was cited for driving with a suspended license.

1/3 - A man was seen on Roosevelt Dr. carrying a deer carcass and also had deer meat in the back of a truck. He didn’t have a tag, but said he was allowed to get two deer per day before the new year because he is a tribal member, and that these deer had been killed before the new year. The officer told him he believed that someone needed a tag to transport a deer off the reservation, and would forward the information to Fish & Wildlife, who may contact the man later.

- An officer saw a man playing horseshoes on Cardinal Road, and knew the man to be wanted on an active warrant. The officer arrested him and took him to Grant County Jail after confirming the warrant.

- Assisting Tribal Police with a possible drunk driver driving a U-Haul toward Grand Coulee, an officer followed the U-Haul from Riley Point all the way up to SR-174 and Butler. The officer didn’t notice any bad driving.

1/4 - A man who walks regularly around the Banks Lake Golf Course area said he saw a man in a white truck shoot and kill a hawk in a tree. The man took photos, and believed he had the plate number of the truck. The man moved and hid the hawk in order to show law enforcement. An officer contacted Fish & Wildlife and someone from that agency came to investigate.

- Electric City City Hall reported seeing and hearing people shooting a rifle and shotgun within city limits in the Little Osborne Bay area. An officer couldn’t find anyone.

1/5 - A man was taken to Grant County Jail on charges of robbery, theft, and endangerment, after he allegedly put a car into park and forcibly removed the keys from his wife after leaving a Grand Coulee Ave. gas station headed towards the hospital, throwing the keys into a field before walking off. Officers found him walking near the overlook area just above Grand Coulee Dam and took him to jail. On the ride, the man would make threats toward one of the officers, his family, and others, seem to calm down, then return to being angry, police reported.

- An officer returned a loose dog from Third St. where a woman had gotten control of the animal, to A St., where the owner lives. The owner apologized, saying she didn’t know the dog had gotten loose.

- An anonymous party stated that the driver of a red van, headed from the Hill St. apartments toward the library and toward Coulee Dam, had been smoking a substance off tin foil, and that the occupants may have intent to steal gas from vehicles. Officers were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.

1/6 - A woman’s family was concerned about her well being after she went to a bar and hadn’t returned home. The woman’s vehicle was found on Goodfellow. An officer knocked on the door but no one answered. He removed the screen from an open window and shouted the woman’s name. The woman woke up and said she was fine.

- Campers at Coulee Playland were told not to light off any more fireworks and agreed not to.

1/7 - Several teenagers were skateboarding down the road on SR-155. An officer spoke to them near the visitor center, and asked them not to skate in the road. The teenagers agreed not to get hit by a car.

12/31 - A driver, pulled over on SR-155 for going 44 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone, was cited for speeding, driving with a suspended license and without an interlock device. The man also was wanted on a warrant and was taken to Okanogan County Jail. A licensed driver took control of the vehicle.

1/1 - A man reported a large dent on his pickup truck had been caused by another man whom he knew. It occurred at the Harvest Foods parking lot, and the suspect had quickly driven off when he saw the complainant come out of the store. Employees at the grocery store will check their security footage for the incident. An officer noted the door was so damaged it would need to be replaced.

1/4 - A man stopped at Riley Point for having a defective headlight was given a warning.

1/5 - A man driving a truck westbound on the Columbia River Bridge had his side rear view mirror hit by an approaching truck that had allegedly been on the wrong side of the centerline. Both trucks were parked at the smoke shop as drivers waited to talk with an officer. The other driver reportedly told an officer, “I don’t know what this is all about. We barely hit him.”
