The Lady Raiders suffered a couple of losses this past week, one to Liberty Bell, and one to Waterville.
In Liberty Bell on Jan. 3, the Lady Raiders lost 57-42 to the Mountain Lions.
Hosting the Waterville-Mansfield Lady Shockers on Jan 5, LR lost a close game 48-43.
Down just one point at the half at 19-18, the Lady Raiders kept the game tight and were down by just two points with a minute left in the game, but were unable to close the gap.
"A tough game to lose when you are on a losing streak," said Assistant Coach Matt Pleasants. "Can't have three to four players at a time carrying the load. It's a team sport, and it requires all of them to buy in. On the bright side there were flashes of that potential, but for them to be successful and get wins they have to perform to their potential on a consistent basis."
Shantana Pakootas led the Raiders with 13 points, five rebounds, and seven steals.
The Lady Raiders are currently fourth in the Central Washington 2B league with a 5-3 win-loss record, 5-5 overall.
Brewster sits at the top of the league at 8-0, 9-1, followed by Waterville-Mansfield (7-1, 10-1) and Liberty Bell (6-2, 8-3)
The Lady Raiders were scheduled to play in Manson yesterday, results of which will be reported in next week's Star.
They play the Bridgeport Fillies at home in Coulee Dam on Friday, Jan. 11, at 6 p.m.
On Tuesday, Jan. 15, LR hosts the Soap Lake Lady Eagles, also at 6 p.m.
