1/15 - A caretaker of a resident at apartments on Hill St. reported a washing machine turned upside down in the common laundry room and the cover of the coin slot removed from the dryer. The cover was found on a nearby table. An officer was unable to lift prints from the machines, and neighboring residents hadn’t seen or heard anything suspicious.
- A Safeway employee reported a liquor bottle stolen from the store by a male wearing all camouflage, a beret, and sunglasses, and fleeing toward Spokane Way. A minor male was found near Morrison St. but stated he had come from school, and had not been at Safeway. The officer cuffed him because he matched the description. After seeing security footage that seemed to confirm the boy as the thief, the officer told the youth he would cite and release him if the liquor was returned. The youth said it was in his backpack at the school on Federal Ave., where the officer also found some champagne, a summer sausage, boxes of candy, a folding knife, and a fixed-blade knife. The knives were turned over to the principal, and the officer asked the youth about the other items found, which the youth eventually admitted taking. The youth’s parents were informed of the charges being forwarded to the Juvenile Prosecutor.
- There was a slight verbal dispute at H&H regarding potential lotto ticket winnings. An officer advised the customer go to another store to check his tickets.
- A Dill St. woman reported that her intoxicated boyfriend had gone outside with a gun. The boyfriend told police someone had previously broken into his shed, and that he had heard someone outside, was tired of his things being stolen, and was ready to defend his property. The man was warned against using lethal force for property crimes.
1/17 - A Spokane Way woman showed police footage of a neighbor girl trespassing on her property and threatening to harm her and the vehicle. The officer is familiar with the girl and spoke to her, telling her not to trespass and that it’s a crime to threaten someone. The juvenile became agitated and made a snowball while staring down the officer, the police report stated.
- A driver police had pulled over on Spokane Blvd. for having expired registration tabs was cited for driving without registration or insurance, and for having a disfigured license plate.
- Nothing appeared missing from a van broken into on 4th Street.
1/18 - A woman reported her Sunny Drive home had been gone through without permission. She said nothing of real value had been taken, only cheap jewelry, change jars, and food from the freezer, indicating a possible squatter.
- A man and woman both known to be wanted on warrants were reported to be in the Delano area. Officers found them at a Yakima Street home. The women’s part of the county jail was full, so only the man was arrested.
1/19 - A woman at the Sky Deck Motel claimed a man was in her bed and may be dead. An officer determined she was highly intoxicated and hallucinating, because there was no man, nor signs of entry. An ambulance was called to take the woman to the hospital for help.
- A Grand Avenue woman was backing into her driveway while another car was backing out of the driveway, causing a collision. Photographs were taken and insurance information exchanged.
1/20 - A man known to be wanted on a warrant was taken from Cardinal Road to Grant County Jail.
- A man and woman with a toddler were reported to be looking into a mailbox at A Street.
- A couple walking on F Street both said they were only having a verbal argument. The woman said that no hands were put on her, and if they were she would be going to jail because no one puts their hands on her.
1/21 - A man known to be wanted on warrants was seen walking on Martin Road, arrested, and taken to Grant County Jail.
1/22 - A man and woman were reported to have been trespassing in a backyard on E Street, where an officer didn’t find anyone.

1/15 - Air freshener reportedly set off a fire alarm at Lake Roosevelt Schools. School staff reset the alarm and the students were let back inside.
- A car traveling 88 mph on the Elmer City Access Road got away. An officer turned on his emergency lights but quit chasing the driver near the SR-155 intersection.
1/16 - A vehicle was going 47 mph in a 30-mph zone on SR-155 near milepost 28. The driver was given a speeding ticket.
1/19 - A man was cited for following an officer’s car too closely on the Coulee Dam bridge. The man insisted he was not following too closely, but that the officer was going too slow.
