Musical openings

Music & Beyond Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, open-mic Saturday at 7 p.m.

A ribbon cutting for the reopening of the Grand Theatre on Main St. in Grand Coulee, now managed by Music & Beyond, will be held Jan. 24 at 1:15 p.m.

An open-mic show will be held there on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The event, featuring a variety of entertainment, will cost $5 admission for adults 18 and older, $3 for ages 12-17, and $18 for a family of four. Children ages 11 and under will be granted free admission.

Sunday bust

Authorities in Okanogan County executed search warrants Sunday that led to five arrests on drug charges, Okanogan County Sheriff Tony Hawley said.

The North Central Washington Narcotics Task Force, Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, Omak Police Department, Twisp Police Department and the Okanogan County Special Response Team executed two search warrants in the Okanogan area on two homes.

Searching homes on Elway Street and on North Fifth Avenue, they found large amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin, which were seized.

Arrested were Maudean L. Vervalen, 29, on four felony charges, including delivery of a controlled substance, and possession with intent to deliver; Clifton R. Scroggins, 45, for possession of meth and possession of cocaine; and two women, each arrested on outstanding felony warrants: Stacy L. Rodriguez, 52, and Ashley J. Pearl, 32.
