The Raiders wrestlers put their team at the top of the Coyote Classic wrestling tournament in Kittitas Jan. 19, and six Raiders earned first place in their weight classes.
LR beat out 18 other teams to win the tournament, with Lake Chelan taking second place.
Raider boys who placed first were Colton Jackson, who wrestled at 106 pounds, Robert Thomas at 113, David Crowe at 132, Kaleb Horn at 138, and Tony Nichols at 152.
Ida Sue placed first in the girls' 140 weight bracket, pinning all four of her opponents.
Also placing at the event were Moses Luevano, who placed second in the 182 bracket; Tyler Palmer, who placed in the 152B bracket; and Steven Flowers, who placed third at 195.
"Overall it was a pretty good day, another step along the way," said Head Coach Steve Hood.
Hood highlighted Nichols' match against Oroville's Seth Baugher in the 152 weight class finals.
"That was a good match," Hood said. "It was really close through about a round and a half and then Tony opened up a lead after that. Baugher was actually ahead 4-3 for a little while."
Nichols won the match 11-4.
An event is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 24, in Oroville or Tonasket, according to school staff, but plans had not been finalized by deadline.
