4/2 - A driver known to have a suspended license was pulled over along Midway Avenue and given a citation for that. He arranged for a licensed driver to take control of his vehicle.

- An officer responded to a report of a couple yelling and screaming on Kelso Avenue, and that the woman was hitting a car in the driveway. The woman said she had been screaming because she had fallen off the porch and twisted her ankle, which the man confirmed. He, however, was also wanted on a warrant. He was arrested and taken to Grant County Jail.

- A driver wanted on a warrant was pulled over on SR-155 for going 44 mph in the 35-mph zone near Hillcrest Avenue. He was taken to Grant County Jail for the warrant, and was being cited for driving with a suspended license and without insurance.

- A woman reported people yelling in the middle of Dill Avenue. An officer responded and spoke with a man who said he was tired of people walking the street at all hours of the night and traffic coming and going from his neighbor’s residence at all hours of the night, with alleged drug activity. While talking to the man, the officer could hear the neighbor in the distance yelling about being tired of being harassed. The officer told the man to report these incidents to the police rather than taking matters into his own hands, and that he was close to committing disorderly conduct.

- A woman reported that a man was walking barefoot along SR-174 toward Grand Coulee from the area of Spring Canyon Road. An officer spotted the man, who was wearing jeans, socks, and a jacket. The man said he was fine and declined a courtesy ride.

4/3 - While parked near Spokane Way and Van Tyne Street, an officer observed a car go by, and when checking on the vehicle saw the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer pulled over the vehicle near Continental Heights. The driver was not the registered owner, but she had a suspended license as well, for which she was cited.

- Kids were reportedly throwing rocks at cars in the area of Ronald Drive. An officer was unable to find any kids in the area.

- A man reported a Boston terrier running around near his Spokane Boulevard home. An officer was unable to locate the terrier.

- A boy standing in front of the middle school told an officer he was playing basketball with his friends, who had since left, and was waiting for his mom to pick him up. Then an officer saw another boy on the roof of the building. The officer warned the boys about trespassing and the dangers of being on the roof. The officer was told they were just trying to get a “cool selfie” on the roof.

4/5 - An officer checked on the driving status of the registered owner of a car parked at Coulee Gas and found the registered owner’s license is expired. The car left the gas station and the officer pulled him over near the overlook just above Grand Coulee Dam. The man said he knew his license was suspended, but had to get to work, and so had to drive. The officer cited the man for driving with a suspended license.

- A Grand Coulee man caught a stray dog near Noble Road. An officer told him they didn’t have a place to put strays unless it was a dangerous animal. The man said he would hold onto the dog and post something on Facebook to try and find the owner.

- A driver was pulled over near Pole Park for having an expired registration. He was cited for the expired registration as well as for not having a license or insurance. The car was parked until a licensed driver could be found.

- A man was pulled over and given a speeding ticket for driving 57 mph in the 35-mph zone along SR-174 near F Street.

- A man was pulled over near Pacific Pride Fuel on Midway Avenue for having a headlight out. The man was given a ticket for driving with a suspended license. A licensed passenger took control of the vehicle.

4/6 - An officer watched a red minivan run through three stop signs in the area of Grand Avenue, Western Avenue, Stevens Avenue, and SR-155 in Electric City. The officer gave the driver a ticket for failure to stop. The driver said he thought he had stopped.

4/7 - A man backed his truck out of Crest Avenue onto Goodfellow Avenue, striking another car. An officer took pictures of the accident.

- A driver was given a speeding ticket for going 47 mph in the 30-mph zone near the top of the Grand Coulee Dam on SR-155. Another driver was given a speeding ticket in the same area for going 50 mph.

- A disturbance on D Street involved one woman allegedly pounding on the windows and doors of a residence she was kicked out of the day before, wanting her stuff. An officer told the owner of the residence that she couldn’t keep the woman’s stuff from her, and that she also couldn’t be banned from the property because the place was still technically her residence. The owner requested additional patrols.

4/8 - A woman reported losing her wallet while walking from the High Dam to The Sage. She said she had canceled her credit cards but was nervous about her kids’ Social Security cards, and her friend’s license. An officer told the woman to tell her friend about the lost license, and to contact the Social Security office about the cards.

4/7 - An officer assisted Washington State Patrol with traffic control at a one-car accident on SR-174 near milepost 23. The driver was taken to the hospital. The vehicle appeared to have been traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit the east guard rail, spun into the west guardrail, and ended up blocking the westbound lane, the police report states.

Coulee Dam

4/1 - A possibly illegal burning of cardboard was reported on Camas Street. An officer spoke to a man who said he was burning wood. He showed the officer his firepit in his backyard with some wood next to it. The man said he used paper to start the fire. The officer thanked the man for showing him the fire and determined it wasn’t illegal.

4/5 - A woman on Birch Street received a fraudulent call from someone pretending to be from the Social Security Department. The woman was told she was under investigation, and needed to purchase four Google Play cards, valued at $100 each, and give the numbers on the back of the card to an “Officer Johnson.” The woman did so, and became suspicious when the “officer” didn’t get in touch with her. A Coulee Dam Police Officer told her he would do what he could, but was not optimistic about it. He was unable to reach anyone with the phone numbers provided to contact “Johnson.” The police officer told the woman that any government agency would reach out to her through the mail, not through a phone call.

- A driver going 50 mph in the 30 mph zone heading North on SR-155 from the Pole Park area was cited for speeding.

4/6 - An officer saw a man sleeping in the back seat of a truck parked near the bottom of Elmer City Access Road with the passenger-side door open and noted a “strong smell of intoxicants.” The truck was off, but the keys were in the ignition. The officer was unable to wake the man and decided to let him “sleep it off.”

- An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Mead Way and Fir Street twice, both before and after going to Harvest Foods. The officer pulled the vehicle over across the bridge on Columbia Avenue. The driver provided a license and registration, and insurance that had expired in 1981. The passenger, and registered owner, said she hasn’t had insurance since June of 2018. The driver was cited for driving without insurance.
