5/25 - A man called 911 and spoke to an officer at Riley Point. The man said he had been the best of friends with a woman for the past two days, but was now concerned about his belongings because she had driven past him without offering him a ride. The officer said he would drive by the man’s place to make sure no one was taking his things.

- A man camping at Osborne Bay called 911 about people shooting toward an old rock quarry while people were also hiking. The officer told the man that although the shooters’ safety precautions were questionable, it wasn’t illegal. A county officer spoke to the shooters while the local officer spoke to the complainant.

- An inebriated woman was given a courtesy ride home from the Grand Coulee Dam Visitor Center to Electric City.

- A man reported a gas cap had been forcibly removed from a delivery truck and gas likely siphoned from it.

5/26 - A man known to be wanted on a warrant was spotted getting into a Jeep on Dill Avenue. An officer pulled the Jeep over near SR-174 and Martin Road. The man had several knives on his person, and a baggie of a substance that later tested positive for meth. He was arrested and taken to jail.

- An officer was shown a large orange “S” spray painted on Lincoln Street and told the names of the teenagers who did it. The officer contacted the youths and told them the police are very busy this time of year and shouldn’t have to spend valuable time explaining right from wrong to two young men who should know better.

- Grant County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance with a report of guns fired near residences past Electric City’s limits at Lakeview Lane. The people were said to not be shooting recklessly, to be outside of city limits, and not violating any laws.

- A female in a pink shirt and black shorts was said to have stolen three bottles of alcohol from Safeway, then had run up Main Street and gotten into a blue Dodge pickup. Police were unable to locate her.

5/27 - An accident in the Safeway parking lot was said to cause minimum damage. An officer helped the two drivers exchange insurance information.

- A woman allegedly caught stealing at Safeway was cited for third-degree theft of $486.86 worth of items on May 22 and May 27. She said she needs to eat and nothing more.

5/28 - An officer responded to a report of an argument on Burdin Boulevard. A man said he and girlfriend had been arguing about a debit card, but everything was fine now. The woman agreed.

- A suspicious person was reported walking along SR-174 in the area of the hospital and hiding from cars. The man said he was just walking home and wasn’t hiding from cars. An officer gave him a ride home.

5/29 - A man on Roosevelt Avenue in Electric City was reportedly yelling and throwing things. Wanted on a warrant, he was arrested and taken to jail.

- A cattle truck was reported to be dumping waste at the south end of Electric City. An officer found neither a cattle truck nor waste at the location.

5/31 - A man on Burdin Boulevard called the cops when a woman poured out all of his beer. The officer spoke to the woman, who was lying intoxicated on a pile of clothes. She said she poured it out because the man drank too much. The officer told her that wasn’t for her to decide, and not to pour out beer the man had purchased.

- An officer pulled a driver over on Martin Road when he saw her driving a car registered to a woman with a suspended license. The driver said the registered owner was her sister. The officer also saw an opened Fireball whiskey bottle in the car. The officer determined that the woman was the registered owner. She was arrested for providing false information to an officer and for driving with a suspended license, and on another warrant. The whiskey was confiscated and the car parked for family to come get.

- A man was banned from the King’s Court RV Park. His grandmother allowed him to stay with her for a few days, and when she asked him to leave, he threw his belongings outside. The man willingly left.

6/3 - A man on Lakeview Boulevard said another man, whom he identified, was beating on his door and yelling threats. He showed an officer some writing on his trailer he said was made by the man. He didn’t wish to press charges for malicious mischief, only to have him barred from his property.

- Two neighbors on Roosevelt Drive were arguing. One believes that drugs deals are occuring at the other’s house, while the other is annoyed with the first for photographing cars at her house. Both told an officer that Facebook interactions fuel the tension.

Coulee Dam

5/28 - Several grams of marijuana found by the high school tennis courts were turned in to police to be destroyed.

- An officer was told by dispatch that someone at the gas station in Coulee Dam wanted a ride in an ambulance to Coulee Medical Center because of blisters on his feet, and dispatch wanted the officer to check if he was really at the gas station. By the time the officer arrived, the man had left the gas station in a truck with “a lot of beer,” according to the clerk, and the police report states, “Guess he really didn’t have to go to CMC.”

5/31 - A woman on Spruce Street told police she had been scammed by a man who called her at home saying he was from Publishers Clearinghouse and that she had won $7,000 a month for life. The woman bought a $225 eBay gift card as instructed by the man to “expedite the taxes.” The woman said she had heard a dog barking in the background. An officer tried calling the number the man called from but only got a busy signal. The officer told the woman to just hang up if she gets another call like that.
