Summer Youth Theater Program to get started

Masquers Theater 2019 Summer Youth Theater Program is taking registrations now. The week long program runs July 15-19 with a performance on Saturday, July 20. The Summer Youth Theater Program is for students ages 8-15 and focuses on exposing students to acting, singing, dance, and offers the opportunity for students to experience the joy of creating and sharing theater. Masquers Summer Youth Theater inspires creativity, imagination, artistic risk-taking, and explores unique ways to tell stories through theater. Our volunteer directors and production team nurture students’ individual talents and artistic strengths in an environment of creative collaboration and ensemble building.

This year’s show is “Adventures of a Comic Book Artist”. Everyone loves comic book superheroes, so both cast and audience will love this action-packed musical spoof of the comic book genre complete with hysterical singing superheroes and dancing villains. In this story the characters come to life off the pages of D.C. Wunderman’s Wonder Comics. But plans go awry as Stanley Leondardo Sappovitz must lead a band of unique superheroes (egotistical Star Guy, speedy Triple Time, environmentally correct Blossom, and cranky little Wombat Woman) against New York’s most recent villain, Dr. Shock Clock. Peril, heroics, and hilarity ensue!
