Event to include dinner, raffle for a quarter beef, and exclusive parking-spot auction
This Thursday night, your support of the Raider football team could get you a side of beef, an exclusive parking spot for games, and a nice dinner this Thursday.
The parents of Raider football players and the Lake Roosevelt Athletic Booster Club will hold a Thursday Night Lights fundraiser on Sept. 6 to raise money for the team to go toward expenses such as new jerseys.
The event will start at 6 p.m. at the Lake Roosevelt football field, where a night practice will be held under the field lights and the community can greet the football team before the start of their 2019 season.
The $10 dinner will include pulled pork sandwiches, chips, dessert, and a drink.
A raffle will award a lucky winner a freezer donated by Loepps Furniture as well as a quarter side of beef from Coach Bubba Egbert’s own Egbert Cattle Company, with raffle tickets selling at one for $10 or three for $25.
Exclusive parking spots in the upper parking lot above the bleachers, a popular spot to watch the games from, will also be auctioned off.
“It’s valuable real estate, because people like to be up there and watch the game from behind the fence,” said Raider Coach and Athletic Director Tim Rasmussen, who explained the parking spots would be reserved and sectioned off for the winning bidders.
The event is the first of its kind from the new booster club.
