You can attend tonight's school board meeting from the comfort of your own home.
The Grand Coulee Dam School District's board meeting, scheduled for tonight at 5:30 p.m., will be accessible via Zoom, a website and application available on your phone or tablet that lets you "attend" a meeting remotely.
The meeting is being held via Zoom, with board directors using the application themselves, in keeping with the social distancing protocol being used globally to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
The direct link to the meeting is https://gcdsd.zoom.us/j/677070515 and may require you to download the application, or sign up for the free service.
Another way to enter the meeting is to enter the meeting ID number: 677 070 515 when prompted to by the Zoom application or website https://zoom.us/join.
Those who have no technical ability to access the meeting can still attend through a link and equipment set up at the cafeteria in the school. Enter through the elementary school entrance. A facilitator will be on hand to make sure social distancing happens as appropriate, Superintendent Paul Turner said.
You may have the option to use, or not use, your device's camera and microphone if you want to participate in the meeting. But Turner said they are not expecting to take community input at what may be a short meeting. They are still just starting to use this technology; people may not be able to comment if meeting administrator has to mute attendees other than the board members.
