Updated - Colville Business Council general election final results are in

Three incumbents reelected, and four new members elected

Election results are in for the Colville Business Council general elections in which seven of the 14 positions for the governing body of the Colville Tribes were up for election. 

Three incumbents were reelected to their seats, while four new members were elected as well.

Those elected will serve terms running from 2020-2022, and will be sworn in July 9th, when the Council will elect officers and appoint committee chairs.

Absentee votes were counted on Thursday and added to the poll results for the final vote counts. 

In the Nespelem District Position #1 race, Andrew Joseph Jr. received 506 votes, defeating incumbent Janet Wak Wak Nicholson who received 284.

In the Nespelem District Position #2 race, Sharlene Zacherle received 457 votes, defeating incumbent Darnell Sam has received 348. 

In the Keller District Position #1 race, incumbent Joseph Somday received 129 votes, defeating Randolph Tonasket who received 80 votes. 

In the Omak District Position #1 race, Virgil ‘Smoker’ Marchand received 440 votes, defeating John MacClain who received 170. 

In the Omak District Position #2 race, Dustin Best received 393 votes, defeating incumbent Margie Hutchinson who received 230. 

In the Inchelium District Position #1 race, incumbent Marvin Kheel received 293 votes, defeating Lawrence “Bubs’ Lelone who received 238. 

And in the Inchelium District Position #2 race, incumbent Richard Swan Sr. received 277 votes, defeating Elizabeth “Susie” Allen who received 251.
