Chester Lee Hamilton

Chester Lee Hamilton, born in October of 1953 in Sugar Creek Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home in Grand Coulee, Washington on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

Chester grew up in Buckner, Missouri, where he enjoyed his childhood on the farm with his brother, Chuck and parents Glenn and Delores. He went to college at University of Central Missouri where he achieved a bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety and made several life-long friends. After college he headed west and spent time in Colorado. Chester first moved to Washington in 1980 and made it his home for life. He worked many jobs but most recently was an independent contractor for Risk Management.

After meeting Lisa, the love of his life, in the year of 2001, he settled right into being a family man. In 2006 he became "Papa Chester." When his granddaughter, Madyson, needed someone to raise her, he stepped up to the plate without batting an eye. They were fishin' buddies, campin' buddies and best friends. He was the Papa all the grandkids needed and deserved. Chester never missed an opportunity to watch his grandchildren excel in sports, drama, singing and dancing.

Chester was a lifelong sportsman, never missing a chance to drop a line in the water or head up to Deer Camp. He had many wonderful memories at the family cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks and was able to be there with his parents before they passed away.  Chester truly loved being out in nature. He called our home "God's Country". He always loved keeping in touch and meeting in Colorado with lifetime friends.

Survived by his loving wife Lisa Hamilton of Grand Coulee, Lisa's two children, Jennifer (Mark) Shelton and Daniel Voss, of Moses Lake, his bonus son, Dominic Bonomi of Cle Elum, his loving brother, Charles (Cynthia) Hamilton of Apple Valley, MN, his two endearing nieces: Charissa Dyer of Blue Springs, MO, Calie Hanuman of Brunsville, MN, and their families. Parents-in-law Kenny and Betty Kriete who loved him like a son. Too many lifetime friends to mention (he loved you all). His precious dogs Amy and Ginger truly lived up to "Man's Best Friend".

Most of all his beloved grandchildren: Madyson, Lily, Ava, Everett, Deryk, Devyn, Max, Hope, Liam, Hunter, Alex, and Kathryn. The Lights of His Life.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Delores Hamilton of Apple Valley, MN.

Chester, Lisa and Madyson enjoyed a wonderful week in Long Beach, Washington, for a final family vacation in July. The sun shined and we were blessed. He proclaimed that vacation as his final decision to retire!

The family will be holding a small service in September and plan to have the grand party that Chester deserves next summer. Wear your favorite Hawaiian Shirt!

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in his honor and in honor of his mother.
