Coulee Dam is offering grants to local businesses funded with money from the CARES Act, and applications must be turned in by Oct. 30.
The application, first distributed Monday, says businesses are eligible if they:

• have 20 or fewer full-time employees,
• had been in business for a minimum of one year as of March 1, 2020

The business must have been directly impacted by Governor Inslee’s Stay-Home, Stay-Healthy Executive Order and must have expenses directly related to COVID-19 pandemic between the dates of March 1, 2020 and November 30, 2020.
Operational expenses include but are not limited to rent, supplies, inventory and utility bills.
Also eligible are “reopening expenses,” including masks, gloves, thermometers, washing stations, sanitation supplies and equipment, and installation of protective covers, such as sneeze guards/Plexiglas shields.
The city has about $35,000 to award with funding coming from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, Economic Security (CARES) Act passed by Congress last spring.
