12/5 - A woman said that she confronted two women stealing tires at apartments on Coulee Boulevard, and that she was almost run over by them. She said that when they drove off in a blue Chevy truck with a red rack she was almost pinned between their truck and hers. The woman never followed up with the police in reporting missing items.
12/8 - A man reported damage to his fence near Lakeview and Nu Coulee Boulevards. Police photographed the fence, which appeared as if someone had driven through it. The man also showed police paperwork from a court case he’d won by which a man is required to clean up land he owns near Cardinal Road, which has a burnt trailer on it, an old hot tub, a broken down Jeep, and other odds and ends. Police told him that is a civil issue.
- A man reported a burglary on Center Street after allegedly catching a man in the act who fled carrying various clothes. The burglar had also set items near the door as if planning to return to get them. He not only told police what the burglar was wearing, he picked him out of a lineup of photographs police had shown him. Police had probable cause to charge the suspect with residential burglary. Later that same day, the same man was caught stealing a truck that was running with the keys inside while parked outside of Coulee Hardware, police said. The truck also contained a hunting rifle and a loaded magazine. That adds charges of vehicle theft and being a felon in possession of a weapon to the suspect’s charges. The vehicle was found abandoned in a field near Cardinal Road in Delano, with the gun still inside. Police collected a cigarette butt and vodka bottle as evidence. The rightful driver of the vehicle, which is a work truck, took the vehicle and was told to report if anything was missing from the truck. Police found the suspect walking down Midway Avenue the next day, arrested him, and took him to jail.
12/9 - A man wanted on a felony warrant was located at a camper on Kent Street where he was arrested and taken to jail.
12/10 - Police checked on a man reported as lying down near the causeway in Electric City. The man said he was trying to get to Portland. Police gave him a ride to the bus stop in Grand Coulee on Midway Avenue.
12/11 - A driver turning north out of the parking lot between Safeway and The Variety Store in a Mercury Mountaineer hit a Honda Civic that was driving north on Midway Avenue. The damage to the driver’s side of the Honda made it undrivable, with the bumper area pushed back into the wheel area where the Mercury’s passenger side hit it. Police took photographs. Both vehicles are insured. The Honda was towed.
12/12 - Police spoke on the phone with a woman who said there had been heroin outside of her Electric City apartment, but that it’s not there at the time of the call. She also said she is thinking of moving to Omak. The officer told her there are some nice places to live in Omak. The woman said she’d look into it and thanked the officer.
- Police checked on a report of a man sleeping on a bench at North Dam Park. Police found blankets but no person, and checked back multiple times and still didn’t see anyone.
12/13 - USBR Plant Protection told police about a traffic accident on Industrial Road off SR-155 where a man driving a Ford pickup slid into a parked Chevy pickup, causing about $4,000 in damage to each vehicle. Snow and slush on the road contributed to the collision.
12/14 - Police gave a hospital patient with an injured hand a ride to his cabin at Steamboat Rock.
- Police spoke to a man matching the description of someone said to have been in a man’s yard on Lakeview Avenue, setting off motion detector lights. The subject said he thought the yard looked like a good place to urinate. He gave officers a fake name, and was caught doing so. Then he gave his real name, which revealed he was wanted on a warrant. The jail wouldn’t confirm the warrant, however, and the suspect was cited for providing false information to the officers, banned from the property, and released. The officers also thought there had been someone else in the yard as there was another set of footprints there.

12/7 - A man wearing a white jacket was reportedly asking for food at the Exxon gas station and then yelling in the parking lot. Police located him near the Visitor Center for the Grand Coulee Dam. The man said he was trying to get to California. He was given a ride to Electric City from a Grand Coulee Police officer who had helped locate him.
12/8 - A Columbia Avenue man left his car running in his driveway and went inside, but when he came back out the car was gone. It was found later that day on Holly Street, parked and locked. The man used a spare key to get his car back. An officer told him he may want to change his locks and contact his insurance company.
