Police

1/12 - Police checked on a Grand Avenue home where the security alarm was activated. An officer entered the back door and announced himself. The homeowner came and spoke with the officer and then called the alarm company.

- Police checked on a Hill Avenue woman who hadn’t called her sister in a couple of weeks and is said to have health issues. The woman was home and said her cell phone ran out of minutes. She asked for an ambulance to take her to the hospital for back pain, although it wasn’t an emergency. The landlord said he helps keep an eye on her, although he is not a caregiver. 

- Electric City City Hall is unsure who owns a vacant building on Coulee Boulevard which has a utility billing issue. They asked police to help identify anyone coming in or out of that building.

1/14 - Police spoke to a man and woman having an argument on Dill Avenue. Police also took possession of a gun for safe keeping. The man, a felon, is not allowed to have possession of a firearm, and the homeowner didn’t want it in the house.

1/15 - While talking to his friend on the phone, a man said he heard a loud bang and the call was disconnected. He asked police to check on his friend from the Partello Parkway area, who was fine.

1/17 - A dog owner on Roosevelt Drive apologized for the inconvenience of his dog defecating in a neighbor’s yard. He said he would keep it from going over there in the future. 

1/18 - An officer wore protective equipment to help Emergency Medical Services lift a COVID-19 patient at the apartments on Continental Heights.

1/10 - A Coulee Dam officer assisted Grand Coulee Police in pursuit of a car. The Coulee Dam officer was parked near River Drive and 12th Street when the vehicle being pursued and Grand Coulee Police drove past. The Coulee Dam officer joined in the pursuit which led to Nespelem at the “Old HUD” houses. A homeowner in the area came outside and was yelling at law enforcement officers, which interfered with the situation. Police warned him not to approach or he could be tased. The passenger of the car was placed in Tribal Police custody. The driver was taken by Grand Coulee Police to Grant County Jail.

1/11 - Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at Roosevelt Way and River Drive. A tan minivan partially blocking Roosevelt Way was not drivable, so an officer called for a tow truck. While travelling west on Roosevelt Way, a man said, a car started to turn and he stepped on his breaks, the car stopped the turn, so he let off his breaks; then the car continued the turn, leading to him hitting it on its passenger side door area. The driver was told by police she should have waited for the man before performing her turn. There were no injuries in the accident.

1/12 - A female dressed in black was reported as walking up and down Holly Street looking at houses and vehicles. No such female was found by police.

1/13 - Police said a dog was trying to get into a caller’s yard and that it growled at him. Police told him they would forward that information along to Tribal Animal Control.
