Celeste Laplace and Lillie Laplace placed first with this graphic design project. "FBLA puts out a prompt every year for graphic design," Lillie Laplace explained to The Star. "This year, we were supposed to come up with a sports team for our area, so we chose fencing because we thought it would be fun (especially because you can still do it safely with COVID)."
Lake Roosevelt students competed in the Future Business Leaders of America regional winter conferences in the last two weeks of February, qualifying for the state competition which will be held from April 21-24.
The competitions are held virtually this year.
FBLA Advisors Susan Duclos and Stacy Davis provided The Star with a list of students who placed in the regional event.
"Best wishes to you all at State," they wrote. "Congratulations Raiders!"
Celeste Laplace and Lillie Laplace took first place in Graphic Design (team event, presentation with equipment).
Kaitlyn Nordine took first place in Help Desk (online test) and second in Journalism (objective test).
Noah Hunt took second place in Help Desk (online test).
Sam Amarillo took second in Sales Presentation (presentation with equipment).
Celeste Laplace & Kailah Leadingham took second in Broadcast Journalism (presentation with equipment).
Lillie Laplace took first in Entrepreneurship (objective test), and second in Computer Solving (online test).
Kailah Leadingham third place in Business Ethics (presentation w/o equipment).
