Twenty-six candidates will vie for six seats in the primary runoff for the Colville Business Council coming in May.
There are seven out of 14 total positions up for election to the Colville Business Council, the governing body of the Colville Tribes. The Keller District will not need a primary runoff because it has just two candidates, and they will face off in the general election in June.
The primaries to narrow these races down to two candidates are set for May, with polls open on May 8, poll votes certified on May 10, and absentee votes certified on May 13.
The general election takes place in June with votes certified on June 24.
In the primaries, running for the Nespelem District’s Position #1 are incumbent Rodney Cawston, the current CBC chair; Dr. Alison Boyd-Ball; and Lily “Teen” Stanger.
Running for Nespelem District Position #2 are incumbent Jarred-Michael Erickson, Charlene Bearcub, Justin Boyd, Deidre Ellsworth, Randy Friedlander, Daniel Nanamkin, Darnell Sam, and John St. Pierre.
In the Inchelium District, running for Position #1 are incumbent Joel Boyd, Michael Finley, Allen Hammond, and Tyler Zacherle-Boyd.
Running for Inchelium District Position #2 is incumbent Roger Finley, Chrystal Pakootas, and Doug Seymour.
In the Omak District, running for Position #1 are incumbent Norma Sanchez, Shirley Charley, and Jim Nanamkin.
Running for Position #2 in the Omak District are incumbent Karen Condon, Preston Boyd, Micahel Marchand, Larry Smith, and Launa Squetimkin.
In the Keller District, the only two candidates running for Position #1 will both advance to the general election. They are incumbent Jack Ferguson, and Edward Cohen.
