Richard Rooney

Richard Rooney, 73, passed away on Friday March 23, 2021, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Richard was born and grew up in Pueblo, Colorado, graduated from East High School, enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam era and later received a BS in Industrial Arts and another in Natural Resource Management / Geography from the University of Wyoming. 

Over the years he lived and worked in various places that included Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Somalia (East Africa), Arizona, Nevada and Washington. 

His occupations included:  building/lumber, yard sales, sporting goods manager, steel cutting supervisor, home remodeling, equipment and machine operator, sales, container transports repair operator and supervisor, logistics specialists, 2\two years for the University of Wyoming in Somalia (East Africa) as a general service and logistics specialist, a general contractor, cement factory mill operator / lab technician and a GIS Analysis / Cerographic Technician in Arizona, Nevada and Washington.  His last employer before he retired was the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation.

Water was the place of happiness and he spent much of his life enjoying fishing, kayaking, hunting and camping - in general, the great outdoors. He caught a Blue Marlin while on vacation in Mazatlan Mexico, sent it to a taxidermist & had it on display in his home in Electric City. 

Survived by brother, Michael Rooney of Phoenix,Arizona, amd sister, Patty Tompkins of Pueblo, Colorado.
