5/11 - A man at Coulee Playland reported about $10,000 worth of fishing equipment stolen from his boat, including nine rods and reels, lures, and more. Photos were taken and a case report provided for the man’s insurance claim.
- A man at the hospital refused to put a mask over his nose to see his doctor. The man said he has a medical condition that could cause him to pass out if both his mouth and nose were covered. He felt discriminated against and said that the mask mandate was not a law. An officer told him the hospital was still a private business and could enforce a mask mandate. The man collected contact information for hospital personnel, and a remote appointment with his doctor was set up.
- The toilet at a Grand Coulee city park was stuffed with toilet paper, garbage, and a plastic jug. A city employee said the bathroom would be locked permanently.
5/12 - Police pulled a vehicle over near the intersection of SR-174 and SR-155 for having a defective license plate light. The passenger of the vehicle fled. The driver explained that the passenger was wanted on arrest warrants. The officer explained passengers are allowed to leave on traffic stops as long as they don’t obstruct the investigation. The driver was cited for driving without insurance.
5/13 - A man reported about $5,000 worth of rods, reels and tackle stolen from his boat at Coulee Playland, and another man who had about $500 worth of fishing equipment stolen. Police spoke to a man identified in security footage as using the restroom at Coulee Playland around the time of the theft but who denied stealing any items.
5/15 - Someone threw a wad of garbage at a woman’s open door while she was gassing up at Coulee Gas. She was unable to describe the person or their vehicle.
- A man said that he wants nothing to do with a woman who believes he is stalking her. He said he hikes near Eden Harbor, which has one access route near her residence. The woman is in the process of getting a court protection order against the man.
5/16 - Police noticed a green truck blocking a lane of SR-155 near milepost 25. A woman explained the vehicle had battery trouble. An officer and a passerby helped push the vehicle out of the way. Eventually the car was started and moved.
- The Coulee Wall Variety Store reported a woman stealing $269.31 worth of merchandise and provided police with security footage. which helped police identify the woman as someone they were familiar with from Coulee City.
- A woman on Palmer Avenue was arrested for malicious mischief and fourth-degree domestic violence assault after allegedly scratching her boyfriend, causing him to bleed, during an argument. She was taken to Grant County Jail.
