Alumni Association awards 14 scholarships

Grand Coulee High School Alumni Association awarded six continuing education scholarships and eight awards to graduating high school seniors, including five from Lake Roosevelt. LRHS seniors selected to receive the $500 scholarships are Vanessa Ankney, Myka Boyd, Raven Clark, Lillie LaPlace, and Kaiman Scheib. Seniors from other schools include Tyler Hinthorn who graduated from McMinnville High School, Oregon; Logan Ledgerwood from Pomeroy High School; and Reagan Weitzel from Ellensburg High School. Grandparents who graduated from Grand Coulee High School thereby making these out of area seniors eligible to receive scholarships are, respectively, Ozzie Rose (‘54), Ben Alling (‘67), and Terry (‘64) and Jacci (‘66) Carr Weitzel.

Continuing education scholarships in the same amount went to Alicia Johnson and Kerin Ludwig - WSU; Madison Clark - U of Washington; Janine Ludwig, SFCC; Ryan Marcolin - U of Montana Western Dillon; and Christina McCarty - University of Nevada Las Vegas. Christina’s eligibility is through Grandparents Robert (‘59) and Mary Ann (‘60) Dahlen Boll; Ryan’s, Janine’s, and Kerin’s through Felix (Faculty ‘67 - ‘’71) and Elizabeth (‘58) Glick Marcolin; Alicia’s through Grandmother Lonna (‘62) Bussert; and Madison’s through Great-Grandmother Dorothy Young Clark (‘41), Grandparents Kim (‘68) and Debby (‘’72) Kelly Clark, and Lad (‘64) and Linda (‘69) Campbell Flowers.
