Dyrel Joseph Elwell, resident of both Spokane and Nespelem, WA, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2021 at the age of 17 years old at the Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA.
Dyrel is survived by his parents: Krystal Stanger and Victorio Elwell; his siblings: Latonya Stanger, Danielle Elwell, and stepbrother Terrance Jim. His grandmothers Myrna Moore and RaeAnn Chuweah. Great-grandmother Grace Moore.
Dyrel was born in Grand Coulee Dam, WA on December 30, 2003. He attended Nespelem Elementary. He spent a few years at Echo Glen Children Center where he learned some coping skills that helped him through his life. There was a lot of staff that had his respect and talked very highly about the way he was respectful and had a truly genuine heart.
He was with his love for a year and half Bailey Cooper and made several loving memories with her over the last couple of years. The one place I seen him being a goof ball. You could see the love they had for each other.
Dyrel enjoyed making friends, had a sympathetic ear, always offered a shoulder to lean on, and willing to take the shirt off his back to anyone in need as his mother bared witness to on numerous occasions. He was a family man and involved in many activities with the family at special times such as catching his first fish, shooting his first deer, helping at family gatherings. Recently he begun to show interest in cooking and baking as well. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
The family will keep Mid Valley in their heart dearly as they worked very hard in making it possible for him to make it to Sacred Heart so his family could say their goodbyes and be together one last time with him.
A dressing was held Friday, May 28, at 10 a.m.
"Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee, Washington is assisting his family with services. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at http://www.stratefuneralhome.com for Dyrel's family."
