Get your passports ready; Koulee Kids Fest is taking place on June 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lots of free activities for kids to participate in around the town.
The “passports” are used by the kids to go to various activities and get their passports stamped at up to 16 local businesses offering fun activities to qualify to win prizes.
“My hope for Koulee Kids Fest is for it to draw families outside, support the community, and engage in some safe and fun activities,” Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce Chamber Executive Director Rachelle Haven said. “Koulee Kids Fest is a great event for the community, as it supports the small local businesses by creating awareness.”
After completing six or more activities, kids write their name and phone number on their passport and drop it off at the chamber office to be entered into the prize drawings, which will be held June 21, with winners contacted by phone.
This year’s grand prize is an iPad Mini with Beats headphones.
Passports must be turned in by 4 p.m. on the day of the event.
Passports are available at Voltage Coffeehouse, Loepps Furniture, Coulee Hardware, Coulee Wall Variety Store, the chamber, and starting Monday June 14th, will be available to print online at https://grandcouleedam.org/event/koulee-kids-fest/
Another freebie feature of Koulee Kids Fest, L-Bow the Clown will be performing a “fast-paced” 45 minute show set to family friendly music on Main Street at 11 a.m.
The show will include juggling, uni-cycling, ballooning, and good, old-fashioned clowning.
From 12-2 p.m., L-Bow will be roaming Main Street making animal balloons and providing roaming entertainment. At 2 p.m. he will put on a 55-minute “safe fire” show with fire juggling, fire eating and fire breathing/blowing.
The event “provides local kids with safe outdoor activities,” Haven said. “We hope that it unites the community with families and local businesses. We are so grateful to the businesses that help us put this on for the community as well as those who have come together to host the car show and bring L-Bow the clown to town!”
The Diversity Divine Car Show is being held at Coulee Plaza on Main Street at the same time as Koulee Kids Fest and will feature a variety of cars from classics to customs.
