Following poll votes last Saturday, unofficial election results for the Colville Business Council came in showing a squeaker in the Keller District, a challenger ahead of the current CBC president and two Finleys leading in Inchelium’s districts.
Absentee votes will be certified Thursday, June 24 and could make a difference in results.
In the Nespelem District, Allison Boyd-Ball was leading 64-50 over CBC Chairman Rodney Cawston for Position 1, but Jarred Erickson had a healthy lead over Randy Friedlander, 74-44.
For Keller’s Position 1, incumbent Jack Ferguson trailed challenger Edward J.E. Cohen by just three votes, 40-37.
Norma “Cate” Sanchez led Jim Nanamkin in the Omak District 83-62, while Preston Boyd led Karen Condon 81-64.
In the Inchelium District, Michael Finley was leading 61-45 over Tyler Zacherly-Boyd for Position 1. Chrystal Pakootas garnered only 24 votes to Roger Finley’s 83.
Poll results were to have been certified Monday, according to a timeline set out for elections last January, but no certification noticed was received by The Star this week, nor was one posted on the tribal website.
The “unofficial” results listed here were faxed to The Star at 10:33 Saturday night from CCT Elections.
