Caudell named new vball coach

Meagan Caudell has been named the new head coach for the Lake Roosevelt Raiders volleyball team.

"Meagan is currently a teacher at Lake Roosevelt Elementary and has been a part of the Coulee Area community for the last two years," an announcement on the school website June 16read. "Caudell moved here two years ago [from Minnesota] when she married her husband and current Raider [assistant wrestling] coach, Justus. Together they have 3 amazing girls who also play the game of volleyball! As a family, they love to adventure, and as Coach Caudell states, 'You will always find us on the go!'"

"I have always been part of a volleyball community, from third grade on up," Caudell said. "Growing up, I competed on many club teams and at the varsity level. In college, I began coaching 12-18 Junior Olympic club teams in Marshall, MN. I worked under some of the greatest coaches I have ever met. I learned so much from them and really learned what it takes to create a solid, empowering, and successful volleyball program!"

"Coach Caudell's vision for the program," the announcement says, "is to empower players to be leaders not only on the court but off the court as well."

"I hope to teach our youth and current players to love the game, push themselves to be their best, and have fun while doing so," she said. "I am so excited to be a part of this team and can't wait for our season to start."

The Raiders volleyball team will be back in action this fall.
