8/17 - Police collected a Glock 43 handgun found at Sunbanks Lake Resort. A woman called police later and said it was hers. Police told her she would have to talk to the evidence clerk and most likely have to go through a pistol transfer process to get it back.
8/18 - Police gave an intoxicated woman who had been yelling obscenities at the hospital a ride to a friend’s house. At the same time, police convinced a man with a head wound outside the hospital, who had initially refused care, to get care for his wound. Police then gave that man a ride to his friend’s house.
- A man on Main Street said he wanted his girlfriend out of his apartment. Police told him the correct way to evict somebody. A while later, the girlfriend reported the man was threatening to light a car on fire. Police saw the man pouring lighter fluid on a Chevy car’s hood, then try to light it with a blue lighter. Police arrested him and took him to jail.
8/19 - A woman told police that her grandson was walking his dog near Roosevelt Drive, which caused a woman’s dogs to bark. She said that woman had video recorded him. Police said she was allowed to record him. The woman told police she just wanted the incident documented.
8/21 - A man with a hammer was reported as trespassing at the Delano Transfer Station.
- A man on Electric Boulevard reported a $1,500 chainsaw stolen.
- A man reported that he had scraped a Mazda with his Dodge Ram while at Coulee Gas. The drivers exchanged information and police photographed the scratch.
- A man camping at Osborn Bay reported that he was pushed by another camper after confronting a group about shooting an AR-15. The other campers told police they didn’t have a gun. They said that the man had yelled at them and that they yelled back, using an obscenity. Police told the man to call again if he was harassed by the campers further.
8/22 - A man returned from fishing to his campsite at Coulee Playland to discover a barbecue grill, boat cover, and camp chair all missing. It turned out the maintenance crew had picked up the items by mistake and returned the items to him.
- A man at Sunbanks Lake Resort reported that he had left his 8-foot fiberglass boat with a Honda motor beached, then woke up to see the water had risen and the boat missing. He told police he would use a jetski to search for it.
8/23 - A man being ID’d to purchase alcohol at Safeway was upset about being ID’d and told a cashier that “white people feed black babies to alligators” and that she was a horrible person. He said he’d see her in the parking lot, which she took as a threat. Police reviewed security footage and could tell that the man was upset at the cashier. The man was not there upon police arrival.

8/11 - Police checked on a Central Drive man at the behest of his doctor. The doctor, concerned the man had missed an appointment, said the appointments are necessary for the man’s survival. The man said he was fine, and had run out of minutes on his phone.
8/14 - Police responded to Pine Street where a woman had entered a residence. The woman was also said to have behaved erratically at the casino. While at the residence, the homeowner said the woman came in holding a garden hose attachment, pretended to spray them, and seemed confused. The woman who entered the residence was also there, drinking coffee. No charges were filed, and she was given a ride to her car at the casino. The woman was later reported walking around naked and scaring people, and was found sitting on the steps of the credit union. Police gave her a blanket to cover up with. The woman was confused and didn’t know where her clothes were, and said that her 4-year-old son was coming to pick her up. Police determined she was having a mental health crisis. Her sister explained over the phone to police that the woman suffers from bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia, and may be off her medications. The woman was evaluated by EMTs, with whom she voluntarily went to the hospital.
- A man is facing animal cruelty charges for leaving his dog in a car parked on Mead Way when it was about 100 degrees out. The dog didn’t have food or water and was panting heavily, police observed. An announcement was made at Harvest Foods and in the casino for the owner to come out, which he eventually did.
8/17 - A Pine Street man reported a stranger sleeping on his back porch early in the morning. Police woke the man, who was intoxicated, and told him he had to leave.
