David Allen Louie Sr

David Allen Louie Sr., 73, known to all simply as "Dave Louie"; passed away Friday afternoon, August 13, 2021, at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Washington. Dave was born Sunday, January 18, 1948, in Nespelem, Washington, to Francis and Elvina McClung-Louie.

A 1967 graduate of Coulee Dam High School in Coulee Dam, Washington where he was named the Beavers Basketball Team's MVP; Dave attended college in Roswell, New Mexico, where he learned welding; a trade at which he worked for many years and was regarded as an excellent welder.

Just about anything Dave did he excelled at, from stick games as a youth, shooting pool, playing 18 holes of golf or expertly running a loader at logging operations for the Colville Tribes.

A member of the "Confederated Tribes of the Colville", Dave belonged to the Grand Coulee, WA Eagles Club and Moose Lodge as well as the Banks Lake Golf Course. In his younger years, Dave enjoyed horseback riding, which he traded in for a motorcycle. When not participating in sports himself, Dave liked watching the Seattle Seahawks or a good movie in the comfort of his home.

Predeceased by his wife, Lois James, granddaughter, Rickey Burris, both parents, and brother, Ray McClung; Dave's legacy lives on through his children: David Louie Jr., Lynn Louie, Raymond Louie, Lisa Jaguarmpierre; Ron Louie, Amanda Louie (Alex Mills), Madison Louie and Ciara Louie; 32 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Deb Louie and Lisa Kume as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Dave's family dressing was held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee, WA. Dave's wake was held that evening at 7:00pm in the Catholic Longhouse in Nespelem, WA, where his funeral was held at 9:00am Thursday morning, August 19, 2021. Dave's graveside services were held at Nespelem Catholic Cemetery immediately following his funeral services.
