News, views and advertising of the Grand Coulee Dam Area
After years of shepherding Coulee Dam’s wastewater treatment plant project along, the town council tonight (Wednesday) will consider authorizing the mayor to sign a letter to the contractor.
Exactly what’s in the letter is not yet known, following a two-hour executive (closed) session of the council on Monday, which was an extension of its regular meeting last Wednesday.
That meeting was “adjourned” again Monday to continue Wednesday “to take formal action regarding the Wastewater Treatment Plant Project,” a note in an emailed invitation to the online forum read.
Monday’s executive session was called to discuss options with the city attorney and was closed under the Open Public Meetings Act exemption that allows the council to “discuss with legal counsel representing the agency matters relating to agency enforcement actions, or … litigation or potential litigation to which the agency, the governing body, or a member acting in an official capacity is, or is likely to become, a party, when public knowledge regarding the discussion is likely to result in an adverse legal or financial consequence to the agency.”
Tonight’s meeting, which will be online only, is set for 6 p.m.
