9/7 - A woman told police she would move her camper from Osborn Bay, where a person can only camp for four days, after a mechanical issue was solved in the camper.

9/8 - Police checked on a dog in a truck on McGovern Street that had been there overnight. The small dog did not appear in distress and a window was cracked. Police opened the door and left some water on the floorboard for the dog. A man said he would call police if the truck and dog were still there later that day.

- Police responded to milepost 26 on SR-155 near Industrial Road where a Chevy Blazer was in a ditch. The vehicle had struck a small plastic construction fence and pile of large rocks, popping the two front tires, puncturing the oil pan, and breaking a rim. The driver said the vehicle pulled to the right and she was unable to regain control. She was cited for driving without insurance. The vehicle was moved to Pole Park and the driver told to put something under the car to catch leaking oil.

- Police did not see anyone bow hunting on King Street after a report of such.

9/9 - Police pulled over a driver on Midway Avenue for speeding and found that the plate on the car belonged to another vehicle. The man was unaware the wrong plate was on, explaining that his girlfriend had purchased the vehicle. Neither the car nor the plate were connected to stolen vehicles. The plate was removed, and the man was cited for driving with the wrong plate and driving without insurance.

- Police responded to a report of a “dog from Harry Potter” chained up without food or water in the area of Spokane Way and Center Street. Police were unable to locate the dog. “Must have been taken by Lord Voldemore,” the police report said.

9/10 - A Coulee Boulevard woman reported that her daughter and her friend had assaulted her and taken her beer. Police observed a knocked over cooler, dishes, and a plant. The woman declined offers for medical attention and didn’t show obvious signs of assault. The incident was documented by the officer who told the woman to call police if her daughter and her friend returned.

9/11 - Police responded to Main Street on a report of two men fighting, using pieces of concrete and rocks. Police separated the men and spoke to them. One man, unidentified and referred to as John Doe, appeared intoxicated and said that the other man, whom police were familiar with, had knocked on his door while he was trying to sleep. Doe admitted to punching him, and police observed wounds on that man’s face. A third man said that Doe was defending him because of an issue between the other man and some cats destroying a PlayStation, and the man threatening him, which led to Doe defending him. Doe was eventually taken to jail and charged with assault, and with obstruction for not identifying himself. He was later identified as a man who lives on Main Street.

- A “homeless encampment” was reported in the southeast area of North Dam Park. Police walked through sage brush and observed a large, pitched tent with garbage around. A sleeping bag and other items were in the tent. Police disassembled the tent and took it near the road, and a citizen let police use a truck to transport the trash to the dump. Police relayed their findings to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, which owns the land.

- A man on Section Place reported an old metal swing with rust on it was removed from his yard and was now in his neighbor’s yard. He showed police a photo of the swing in his yard, and where it was currently at the neighbor’s. The neighbor was surprised the swing was there, and he helped take it down to give it back to its rightful owner.

- Police spoke to people outside the Hi Dam Tavern after a fight occurred. Two men had argued and pushed each other. One man fell and hit his head, causing bleeding. He lost consciousness. The man woke up while police were there. He was taken to the hospital. No one wanted to press charges.

An officer yelled into a house before a pit bull ran outside and bit him on his calf and thigh. The officer drew his gun and pointed it at the dog but lowered it when the owner was near the dog. Grand Coulee police arrived to take control of the scene as the officer drove himself to the hospital.
