The Lake Roosevelt Raiders cross country team ran in Tonasket Sept. 30.
"Tonasket was a little wetter than I'm used to," Head Coach Matthew Timentwa said. "It rained buckets for about ten minutes right after we arrived, but it calmed down before the kids actually had to run."
"The course is still as tough as ever with all the hills that are involved in the course," he continued, "but every team has to run the same course."
Colton Jackson was the fastest Raider there, finishing third out of 31 boys' varsity runners with a time of 20 minutes, 22.17 seconds.
Carter Timm of Tonasket won the event with a time of 18:57.59.
Timentwa said that Marteena Oflynn-Fulfer, who finished the girls 5,000-meter race in 29:51.89, is someone "to keep an eye on."
"She has really battled to get faster each and every week, and you can tell by her performance on race day," Timentwa said. For the middle school runners, Caden Portch "ran a really good race at Tonasket," Timentwa said. "He's really starting to come into his own as a runner, and he knows that he can compete with the top runners at the middle school level."
The Raiders' next cross-country event is scheduled for Oct. 6 in Omak at Omak Park at 4 p.m.
