Viola L. (Pierre) Myrick-Nordhougen

Viola L. (Pierre) Myrick-Nordhougen, 71, left us all much too soon, Sunday evening, November 14, 2021, from Coulee Medical Center in Grand Coulee, Washington. A longtime resident of Coulee Dam, Washington, Viola was born in Omak, Washington to Andrew J. Pierre Sr. and Margaret C. (Noyes) Pierre on September 19, 1950. Graduating from Omak High School in 1968, Viola went on to attend Spokane Falls Community College. A proud member of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and Catholic Church, Viola was a Fiduciary Officer with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 19 years and then a Heavy Equipment Operator doing road construction and maintenance. On December 20, 1996, Viola married, Robert "Bob" Nordhougen in Reno, Nevada. She enjoyed driving Bob's cart around Banks Lake Golf Course and watching him play, long road trips, reading and playing pull tabs.

Preceded in death by her soulmate and husband, Bob Nordhougen; both of her parents and brothers: Melvin Pierre and Mark Pierre; Viola's proud legacy lives on through her children: Shawn Myrick (Carlene Clark) and Laura Myrick (Cecilio Smith); grandchildren: Nora Myrick, twins – Shayla & Kayla Myrick, Kolby Marchand and Colton Myrick; great-grandchildren: Kaleigha Samuels, Taija Bowman, Easton Bowman-Myrick, Ares Holt and Kruz Boyd; siblings: Karen Pierre, Andrew J. Pierre Jr. and Jay Pierre; nephews and nieces: Deanna Pierre, Marcella Pierre and William Pierre and great-nephews and nieces: Rosie Pierre, Travis "TJ" Arlee Jr and Matthew Miller.

Her funeral service took place at 9:00am, Friday, November 19, 2021, at Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee. Viola will be placed next to Bob during a private family urn burial, to take place at a future date in Spring Canyon Cemetery, Grand Coulee, Washington.
