Grand Coulee Police
1/2/22 - Police went to E Street at about 5 a.m. where a man reported his neighbor had pulled up with loud music. He asked him to keep it down, which made the neighbor angry. The neighbor then reportedly was talking outside loudly on the phone. The man again asked him to keep the noise down, which prompted the neighbor to come onto his property in a fighting stance. Police were unable to talk to the neighbor.
1/4 - A woman on Roosevelt Drive reported feeling threatened by a neighbor’s pit bull being let out. Her husband said he was tired of issues with the dog, as well.
- Police were told about a semi truck traveling south on SR-155 with a wheel on fire. Police stopped the semi and told the driver that his wheel was punctured.
1/5 - Cafe Espresso employees reported feeling creeped out by a man who peaks through the business windows at them and into the windows of their parked cars. Police said they will ban the man once they see him.
- A “buggy” with no plates was reported to have come to the hospital, driven by a woman in a black hoodie, with a man overdosing on something in the backseat. Police were unable to locate the vehicle at the hospital or in the surrounding area.
- A woman reported spending several hundred dollars on clothes at a garage sale. She said the woman who sold her the clothes has continually called her, asking for more money, and had even showed up at her house. Police told her to block the calls and to pursue an anti-harassment order if necessary.
1/6 - A vehicle driving south on SR-155 ran out of gas and slid back into a snow berm near the Grand Coulee Dam Visitor Center. The vehicle was removed without incident.
- The driver of a car on Coulee Boulevard lost control, hitting a snow mound near the Skydeck Motel. An officer and a good Samaritan helped get the car unstuck. There was damage to the car, but the driver was not injured.
1/7 - A vehicle with expired registration and no rear plate parked on Roosevelt Drive was tagged for removal and is thought to be abandoned.
- Two trucks parked on Midway Avenue at Jess Ford had the catalytic converters sawed off, estimated to cost $5,000 each to replace.
1/8 - Police went to a Bowen Street residence where an alarm was activated, possibly by a cat. Police looked around the property and didn’t see anything amiss.
- Police checked on a car stuck in the snow near North Dam Park. The woman driving it refused to exit the vehicle and refused a courtesy ride. She made several statements concerning Christianity. Police contacted her husband, who convinced her to accept a courtesy ride. Her husband said he would take care of the vehicle.
- Police found that a Honda parked on Burdin Boulevard was reported stolen out of Spokane. The vehicle contained unopened alcohol bottles, backpacks and luggage. It was unlocked with the keys in the ignition. The owner said he would come from Spokane to get the vehicle. Two men came out of a nearby residence, confused, saying the vehicle had been given to them earlier in the day for free by someone named “Ghost,” about which they told police they weren’t suspicious. The key to the car had a GM logo on it, and had been filed to fit the Honda. The men face charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, although the jail wouldn’t book them. They were allowed to retrieve their possessions from the vehicle not described by the owner. They agreed to provide written statements about the situation.
1/9 - A man who was “looking for some turkeys” near the golf course was cited for driving without an interlock ignition device as well as for driving with a suspended license.
Coulee Dam Police
1/3 - On Douglas and Stevens Avenues two officers helped a stuck FedEx truck by pushing it free.
1/4 - At the request of his mother, police spoke to a boy about the importance of telling the truth and the consequences of lies.
1/5 - Police spoke to a Pine Street man who reported his home broken into. He did notice anything had been taken. Police observed damage where the door was pried open.
- A driver crossed the bridge into Douglas County and slid into a concrete barrier. He was cited for driving too fast for the weather conditions and was allowed to get his car the next morning.
