Connie Marie (Clarkson) Rounds

February 4, 1954 – February 5, 2022

She was born to Shirley Lewis on February 4, 1954, in Spokane, WA and walked through the gates of Heaven to her beloved Jerry on February 5, 2022 at her home in Oroville, WA surrounded by her loved ones.

Raised by her mother Shirley and Bernard Picard, Sr. in Nespelem, WA with her brothers; Del, Earl, and step-brothers Ben Jr. and Donald. She loved her childhood on the (Picard) ranch and told many stories about growing up there. And although she moved away as an adult, she kept many friends and skills learned from her many years on the reservation. She was an excellent self-taught home nurse from her time working as an EMS Responder. She was able to do incredible beadwork taught to her from family elders. She was able to spell everyone's names in alphabetic code from her precious years as a Colville Tribal Dispatcher.

Once she moved to Oroville, WA with her beloved Jerry Rounds, her skillset expanded even more including becoming a cherry picker, apple picker, drum manager, band manager and McDonald's shift manager among other things. When not working she enjoyed hunting, fishing (even held the state record for a while), wood cutting, picking huckleberries and mushrooms. The last of which she was able to carry 4 full 5-gallon buckets for miles back to camp, often showing up many of the men at camp.

Later in life her hobbies evolved into quilting and cross-stitch crafts along with reading the Bible and angel stories. She shared her cross-stitch crafts with so very many including her kids, grandkids, and great grandchildren. All of whom will miss her beyond words and will hold those crafts tightly knowing that there was love and prayers put into every stitch.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Bernard Sr. and Shirley Picard, her precious baby boy Gerome, her husband Jerry Rounds, brothers Earl and Ben Jr., grandson Stoney Covington and many friends and family.

Connie is survived by her daughters Darcy (Yancy) Epperson of Nespelem, WA, Acey (Adam) Cantrell-Mendoza of Oroville, WA, step-daughter Sabrina (Jack) McAlpine of Oroville, WA, brother Del (Cindy) Clarkson of Oroville, WA, grandchildren: Chance (Jamie), Teaya (Tyrell), Alana (Loren), Riley, Jesse (Halee), Janie, Early-Dawn, Tapanga, Ariel, Natasha, Emma, and Brian III, great-grandchildren: Kaden, Bryson, Heath, Dasyn, Daxton, Hayzen, Bryton, Onyx, Sky, River, Ember, Alex, Weston, Harley, & Bryson, & her sweet, and slightly psycho protective, fur baby Ginger Snap, countless friends and family (including all her ex in-laws) that she loved dearly.

At her request she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Bergh Funeral Service & Crematory is in care of arrangements.
