Raider wrestlers competed at district meets in Tonasket and Spangle on Saturday to qualify for regionals.
For the boys, the top three wrestlers in each weight class qualify for the regional tournament in Warden.
Wrestling in Tonasket on Feb. 5, 10 Raider boys qualified for regionals.
Roger Cate placed first in the 106-pound weight class by pinning Miguel Depaz from Tonasket one minute and 48 seconds into the match.
Colton Jackson placed second at 120, losing the top spot to Aaron Polito of Tonasket 6-3. Francis Louie placed second at 132, losing the top spot to Waylon Thomas of Tonasket by pin 1:26 into the match. Teyten Flores took second at 138 when the top spot went to Waylon Wilson of Tonasket by pin 1:10 into the match.
Elijah Marchand placed third at 138 after beating Okanogan’s Evan Roxby, pinning him early in the second round. Christian Carson took third at 145 with a pin of Oakley Bonewell of Okanogan 28 seconds in.
Kaiden Palmer placed third at 160, pinning Braiden Howell-Hansen of Okanogan 1:55 into the match. Sergio Galicia placed first at 170 with a pin of Okanogan’s Richie Arroyo 24 seconds into the second round.
And Landon Krohn placed third at 170, pinning Jr Garcia from Tonasket 54 seconds into the match.
Just barely missing the cut for regionals, John Desautel took fourth at 195, being pinned by David Nunez from Tonasket 30 seconds into the second round. Terek Bush placed fifth at 220. Elijah Rasmussen placed fourth at 285, losing the third-place spot by pin by to Joseph Cates from Okanogan.
For the girls, the top five places qualify for regionals, with both LR girls qualifying.
Kaylee Landeros, wrestling at 190, took second, losing the first-place spot to Othello’s Elia Velazquez by pin 1:17 into the first round. Arianna Waters placed fourth at 170, losing to Othello’s Thalia Gallegos by pin 1:54 into the second round.
The Regional tournaments are on Feb. 12 at 10 a.m., with the boys’ tournament in Warden, and the girls’ in Ephrata where no spectators are allowed.
