Grand Coulee Police

2/22 - Police responded to a report of suspicious vehicles on Goodfellow Avenue but found nothing amiss. A loud banging noise heard by the reporting party may have been one of the vehicles getting attached to a trailer.

- A vehicle was towed from Dill Avenue for parking in a no-parking zone and for having expired registration.

- A woman told police she would move her vehicle on Young Street that was blocking the roadway.

2/23 - A “suspicious” person was reported as knocking on a door on Roosevelt Drive, then leaving in a car when a man answered the door. Police didn’t see the car anywhere. The residents thought the person may have been prowling the area.

- A woman reported a package stolen off her porch on Continental Heights, and saw a heavier set woman walking away with the package after she was notified it had arrived. She said the package contained about $16 worth of protein shakes, and that she just wanted police to be aware that there are “porch pirates” in the area.

2/24 - A man reported that his Ford Explorer had been taken from the Continental Heights area. He told police that the keys were in the ignition and his wallet was gone too. He told police who he thinks may have taken it.

2/25 - A noise complaint was reported with a big rig parked at night outside the city park on SR-174 with its engine running. Police knew the driver was sleeping in the vehicle with the engine running because of the cold. Police determined the noise wasn’t loud enough to be a violation. The next day, another police report said that the engine was running because the cargo of the truck needed to be refrigerated.

- A woman requested extra patrols on Weil Place because she was worried people might try to steal building materials there.

2/26 - A vehicle was parked in the roadway at Hill Avenue and Gardner Avenue. The owner arrived just as the tow truck did and was allowed to take his vehicle. It had run out of gas.

2/25 - An unlicensed driver was taken to jail, cited for driving under the influence, after footage at Harvest Foods showed her drive partly onto a sidewalk and back into a light pole. The footage showed she was the one driving. She was contacted by police on the passenger side of the vehicle, where there was tin foil and lighters, signs of drug use, near her, and she was found to be groggy.

2/27 - Police responded to Lakeview Terrace for a domestic situation as Lincoln County officers were still a ways away. There, a man said that he and his girlfriend were arguing over the last bit of Fentanyl. Police explained that wouldn’t happen if they didn’t use drugs in the first place. The man said he understood and had tried to quit but found it too difficult to stop. The man said he planned to go to a neighbor’s house. No assault or crime had been committed.
