Students of every age at Lake Roosevelt Schools are busy this week learning their parts for a play they'll put on in just a few days.
Join the Emperor, his friends and subjects, and the busy Silkworms this Saturday March 19, 2022 when the Missoula Children's Theatre and 28 local students present an original musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen classic, "The Emperor's New Clothes."
Playing the title character of the Emperor is local student Noah Hunt. Other featured performers include Showaway Hunt as ManyPenny, Veronica Tynan as Royal Scholar Roxy, and Trevor Johnson as Royal Scholar Red. The Queens will be Eleanor Kontos, Karlyn Logue, Amelia Wickizer, and Kaelynn Warner. The Money Council will be Bella Langstaff, Kalea Edwards, Nolan Gause, and Eva Connors. Gem is Kenzie Portch while the Royal Jewelers are Estela Rodrigues Treu-Fowler and Lucy Fuller. Boots is Kimana Green and the Royal Cobblers are Kendryck Stensgar and Milliana Palmenteer. The Royal Hatters Zayda Wickzer and Amy Connors will be led by Lexi Portch as Lid. The Royal Tailors will be played by Layla Kontos, and Dakota Hunt and Sage Green will be Stitch. And finally, the Royal Silkworms will be played by Ellis Desjardins, Charlotte Steffler, Athena Viera, and Myles Salverson.
"The Emperor's New Clothes" will be presented at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Lake Roosvelt JR/SR Gymnasium. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children and for seniors over 55. They are available at the LRHS Gymnasium during rehearsals (Wednesday-Friday 4-8 p.m. and at the door.
