CONNECT WITH NCW LIBRARIES DURING NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK

NCW Libraries encourages all community members to celebrate National Library Week by visiting a local library location or exploring http://www.ncwlibraries.org to discover an array of library programs, services, and resources

April 3-9 is National Library Week, a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. The theme for this year’s National Library Week is “Connect with Your Library.” Libraries offer opportunities to connect with technology, media, programs, ideas, and classes, in addition to books. Most importantly, libraries connect communities to each other.

Join the celebration of libraries and library staff by checking out NCW Libraries website, blog, and social media pages throughout the first week of April. Stay up to date by signing up for the monthly newsletter.

NCW Libraries mission is to connect the people of North Central Washington to the vital resources and opportunities that foster individual growth and strengthen communities. To fulfill that mission, NCW Libraries actively responds to community needs by providing relevant resources such as wifi hotspots to help bridge the digital divide. Library locations provide a place to sit, charge a device, and access wifi. Virtual library programs offered a safe way for community members to connect and learn together during the pandemic.

Library card holders can use a library computer or access the website from home for a variety of online resources including live homework help, digital skills development through LinkedInLearning, reliable news sources through Newsbank, and language learning through Rosetta Stone. Learning Express Library offers resources for becoming a citizen, career guidance, and prep materials for high school testing and equivalency exams. Hoopla, Kanopy, and Libby offer a vast array of digital books, audiobooks, magazines, movies, and more.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April. For more information about NCW Libraries resources and services visit http://www.ncwlibraries.org or stop by one of the 30 library locations across North Central Washington.
