The Lady Raiders softball team has a 4-2 win-loss record after two wins and two losses this past week.
LR lost a road game 11-9 against Cascade High School on March 22.
LR Head Coach Jaci Gross explained that in the bottom of the seventh inning, Cascade hit a walk off homerun to win the game.
Aaliyah Marchand pitched four innings for LR, striking out nine batters, walking four, and giving up four hits.
Emma Marchand pitched the other three innings, striking out two, walking one, and also giving up four hits.
Batting for LR, Presley Steffens hit a homerun and two singles.
"Presley's home run was the highlight of the day for us," Gross said.
Emma Marchand hit two singles and a double; Aaliyah Marchand hit two doubles and a single; Sawyer Steffens hit a double; and Audrey Hansen hit two singles.
"Without hits from anyone else, it was a difficult task to score," Gross said. "Also, we had several mental mistakes that just shouldn't have happened."
On March 24, LR lost at home 16-8 against Okanogan, after a tie in the sixth inning at 6 runs apiece. Stats were unavailable from this game prior to deadline.
LR won two solid games against Bridgeport in a doubleheader Saturday, both scored 15-0.
In the first game, Emma Marchand shut out the Fillies in four innings, striking out 10 and walking two, allowing no hits.
At bat for LR, Marchand hit a homer and two doubles, Halle Albert hit a homer and a double, Sawyer Steffens had a double and two singles, Presly Steffens hit a double, and Hansen hit a triple and two singles.
"Presly Steffens pitched her first perfect game as a Raider" in game two, Gross said. "She pitched three innings and struck out nine."
At bat, Albert hit another home run; Aaliah Marchand hit a homerun; Emma Marchand hit a double; Presley Steffens hit a triple; and Desiree George and Aspen Smith each hit singles.
"Pitching proved too much for Bridgeport," Gross said. "It was nice to see our bats come alive also. Great day for LR Lady Raider softball."
The Lady Raiders are next scheduled to play on Saturday against Wilbur-Creston at the middle school in Creston at noon.
