Raiders come from zero to beat Omak

The Raiders won two and lost two this past week to have a 8-4-1 win-loss-tie record so far this baseball season.

Maybe the Raiders were only lulling the Pioneers into a false sense of security by remaining scoreless in the first four-and-a-half innings, setting Omak up 5-0 halfway through the fourth on a frosty Thursday afternoon.

If they were, it worked.

Lake Roosevelt decided to play offense in fifth to the point of tying the game at five each, overtaking Omak in the sixth inning when Raider bats started pinging and bases felt their runners' soles.

The Raiders lost 11-1 in Brewster April 12, won 9-5 when they hosted Omak April 14, and split games at a Tonasket doubleheader April 16, losing the first 7-6 and winning the second 7-4.

The Raiders were scheduled to host Okanogan yesterday, results of which will be in next week's Star. They'll host Liberty Bell Tuesday, April 26, at 4:30 p.m. in Coulee Dam.
