The Lady Raiders softball team is on a winning streak boosting their now 8-2 win-loss record for the season.
The ladies defeated Pateros there on April 11 with a final score of 19-1.
With Lake Roosevelt securing the victory in just three innings, Emma Marchand pitched one inning, striking out two, Presley Steffens pitched one inning, striking out three batters, and Aaliyah Marchand pitched one inning, striking out one.
LR scored seven runs in the first inning, eight in the second, and four in the third.
LR then won both games of a doubleheader in Tonasket April 16, winning the first game 13-3, and the next 16-1.
In the first game, Tonasket was up 1-0 after the first inning, but from there, LR took over, scoring two runs in the second, three in the third, five in the fourth, and three in the fifth.
Halle Albert hit a single and two doubles; Sawyer Steffens hit a pair of singles; Emma Marchand hit a pair of doubles; Presley Steffens hit two doubles and a single; and Desiree George, Lola Yazzie, and Aspen Smith all hit singles.
On the mound, Presley Steffens struck out eight batters in four innings, and Aaliyah Marchand struck out two in one inning, with neither pitcher allowing any hits.
In game two, the game was tied 1-1 after the first inning. Then, LR took off, scoring eight in the second inning and seven in the third.
Aaliyah Marchand struck out 10 batters on the mound.
At the plate, Emma Marchand hit a homerun and three doubles; Albert hit a double; Sawyer Steffens hit a pair of singles; Presley Steffens hit a single and a double; and Aaliyah Marchand, George, Nautika Brown, and Peyton Jake all hit singles.
The ladies were scheduled to host Almira-Coulee-Hartline in a doubleheader yesterday, results of which will be in next week’s Star.
They are scheduled to play today, April 20, in Okanogan at 4:30 p.m., then host a doubleheader with Soap Lake Saturday, April 23, starting at 11 a.m.
Then on Tuesday, April 26, LR is scheduled to host Pateros at 4:30 p.m.
