The Raider track and field team competed at the K-Valley Rally in Kittitas April 15 against the wind as well as athletes from other schools.
"Although the temperatures and sun cooperated, the strong head wind made it hard for the athletes to earn top marks and times," Head Coach Lori Adkins remarked. "They still placed well and put points on the scoreboard."
"Arianna Waters shined in the discus event on her debut performance," Adkins said.
Louie threw for a distance of 77 feet, four and a half inches, placing second and earning eight points for the Raider team.
"Carly Neddo doubled, placing second in the javelin and high jump events, earning another 16 points for us," Adkins said.
Lake Roosevelt placed eighth out of 12 teams with 31 points.
Brewster won the event with 87 team points.
The Raiders were scheduled to compete in Manson yesterday, results of which will be reported in next week's Star.
They are scheduled to compete in Quincy on Saturday, April 23, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
